Team Read, a local nonprofit that pairs young students with teen reading coaches, was looking for a graphic for an upcoming fundraising event to support their valuable work. But they were faced with a problem: because their programming was all online due to the pandemic, they didn’t have any recent photographs of their reading teams in action. Screenshots from Zoom weren’t going to cut it. They asked me to create a fun, branded illustration with a retro, Schoolhouse Rock-esque feel.

The final design uses Team Read’s brand colors and hand-lettering for a graphic reminiscent of a kid-friendly after-school TV program.

Team Read loved it so much that they asked me to produce some additional illustrations of their reading pairs that they could use in their promotions throughout the year.
