Peculiar is an offbeat art magazine sharing stories of unusual mediums, repurposed tools, and art communities.

There is a need for art publications that highlight outsider artists and on the cooperative nature of creativity.
The audience for Peculiar ranges from young experimental artists, to seasoned career creatives, to activists, organizers, and DIYers. They are united by their curiosity and desire to explore art beyond traditional boundaries.

Peculiar uses bold color blocks, strong text hierarchy, and a consistent grid structure to showcase artists, their spaces, their work, and their communities.

The Risograph Issue

As a Risograph printer myself, I was excited to have this opportunity to highlight not just the medium, but the people and community that has grown up around it.
